Converse Winkler Architecture LLC is a full service, LEED certified, WBE architecture and urban design firm based in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. The firm’s principals, Mimi Converse Winkler and Jim Winkler have extensive experience in a wide variety of project types and scales.
Jim Winkler was previously a Senior Associate at DPK&A Architects where he worked on large scale public projects such as the B/C terminal at the Philadelphia International Airport and the Erie Federal Courthouse. Prior to this, he worked in the highly acclaimed architectural firms of Cesar Pelli & Associates, Venturi Scott Brown Associates, Barton Myers Associates and Charles W. Moore. Projects included such the Vassar Art Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Howard Hughes Tower in Los Angeles.
Mimi Converse Winkler’s experience is with residential and smaller scale institutional projects. She has designed over 50 new houses and additions. She has extensive experience working with building renovation and with non-profit clients and is currently overseeing a club house renovation for the Meadowood Retirement community. She received her Masters Degree from Yale University where she was awarded the Parson’s Medal for excellence in Planning. As a board member of the local civic organization she has assisted in "Main Street" revitalization efforts of Bala Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.
